The GREX World Summit, Calgary, Alberta: November 2019

GREX held their inaugural world summit on November 1 – 3, 2019, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Attendees included ~60 GREX members representing 19 countries and 5 continents (North and South America, Australia, Europe, and Asia), specializing primarily in nephrology, exercise science, and/or nutrition. The objectives of this meeting were to: 

1. Establish a formal mission and vision for GREX;

2. Provide education on how to develop a global research network; 

3. Discuss: 

a.) barriers to and facilitators of exercise implementation 

b.) how to increase the relevance of exercise in nephrology 

c.) the results of the GREX Delphi Study on exercise research priorities 

4. Develop a strategy to further international exercise and physical activity research in CKD.
